Cody is twelve years old and lives with his mom and dad. He has one brother and one sister. He goes to Forest Park School in Crytal Falls, Michigan. His interests are football, baseball and playing video games. He builds forts and rides bikes. He has one bird and 16 fish. His favorite colors are red and purple. Cody likes to camp, fish, and ride go carts. He also likes to snowmobile and have snowball fights. He has lots of friends and also has three computer. Well actually two, one should be here soon! His favorite football teams are Atlanta Falcons and Dallas Cowboys. Cody's hobbies are building model cars and collecting crystals and rocks. He likes to read and write, His favorite book is Bridge to Terabithia. Cody's future job is to be a mechanic. Cody likes to watch real big machines at construction sites.

Physical Description: Medium sized bats are a rich chestnut brown, the ears are small,thick, and black.The membranes are blackish , the under parts arepaler than the back. The ears and membranes devoid of hair, or nearly so. The wings are short and broad, the length of the fifth metacarpal is almost equal to that of the third. Dental Formula: 12/3,c 1/1,pm 1/2,m 3/3 x2=32.
External measurements average: total length 14mm, forearm: 97mm,tail:46mm,foot: 11mm, weight: 13-20 grams sometimes 30 grams.

Habitat: The Brown Bat lives in forests,attics,buildings,caves,and crevices in rocks. Most bats go under loose bark in dead trees.

Diet: The Brown Bat eats entirely insects including beetles,bees,flies,Nerve wings,May flies,Scorpion flies,Caddis flies,and cockroaches.

Behavior: The Brown Bat has 1 to 2 babies a year from May to August. At birth the babies weigh 3.0 grams gaining 0.5 ounces per day! In a colony that has 20 to 300 individuals a fungus disease called Histoplasmosis a lung disease. Rabies isn't as big a problem as people think. Most bats can't break the skin. But the Brown Bat can break the skin real easy.
