Elizabeth Rogers,
Ph.D.Ms. Rogers holds a doctorate in zoology, a Masters degree in environmental education, and a bachelors degree in field biology. Dr. Rogers has over 20 years of experience in environmental education serving students ranging from kindergarten through university. She is currently employed as a research ecologist with White Water Associates, Inc., a private environmental consulting firm headquartered in the U. P. For them she conducts ecological studies on birds, mammals, and landscape ecology. Also for White Water Associates, Dr. Rogers has designed educational materials and conducted numerous field workshops for foresters, natural resource personnel, and teachers and was co-designer of the Wolf Track Interpretive Nature Trail at a nearby recreational complex. Before joining White Water Associates, she worked as an environmental educator at a national wildlife refuge in Massachusetts, and at a center for ecological education in Greensboro, North Carolina. She holds an adjunct professorship at Michigan Technological University in Houghton, Michigan. She currently serves as president of an Audubon chapter and holds memberships in the Association of Field Ornithologists, Wilson Society of Ornithology, Michigan Audubon Society, Society for Conservation Biology, and the scientific research honor society, Sigma Xi.
Maxine Henry, BS.Ms. Henry holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Atlantic Union College, South Lancaster, Massachusetts, with continuing graduate work at Northern Michigan University, Marquette, Michigan. In addition, she has completed numerous professional development workshops conducted by the Dickinson-Iron ISD including a nature trails workshop and a geology workshop. She currently serves on the Environmental and Field Science Committee, a group that plans workshops for educators throughout the region for NMU. She organized and served as head coach for Science Olympiad teams at Forest Park (1994-1997), a workshop presenter for Michigan Math Association (1997), a co-creator of the Science of the Mind program for Forest Park (1995-1998), and co-chairs the school Science Fair since 1993. She also serves on the Dickinson-Iron Area Math Science Satellite Committee.
Dave TillerMr. Tiller is a key field biologist on many of White Water Associates' ecological research and assessment projects. He has particular expertise in field identification and study of birds and mammals, and the delineation of wetlands. His formal degree is in psychology and sociology. Continued formal training has included an intensive field course in the delineation of jurisdictional wetlands sponsored by Michigan State University and the Department of Natural Resources. Mr. Tiller has been an active participant in many of the experiential educational programs conducted by White Water Associates. Prior to joining White Water Associates, Mr. Tiller served as the director of a greenhouse garden project at the senior citizen center of Iron River and as a horticultural therapist at a facility for mentally handicapped citizens. With Dr. Roger, he was co-designer of the Wolf Track Nature Trail at the George Young Recreational Complex. As a resource professional. he has lent his expertise in several school classrooms, Audubon, and library presentations on birds and mammals. He is a charter member and past president of the local Audubon chapter and the organizer and compiler of the county's Christmas bird count. As a current member of the Wisconsin Society for Ornithology, Mr. Tiller is actively involved in the Wisconsin Breeding Bird Survey.
