The Drafting (Composing) Homepage:
During the drafting stage, some students will have difficulty getting started while others will plunge right in. Some will draw pictures and make doodles on their paper; while others will write continuously and seemingly without effort. It is important that during this stage students are not hampered with the mechanics of writing. The idea is to get their ideas down without letting concern about correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar get in the way of composing. A "free flow" of ideas is encouraged. Students need to be aware that first drafts are not finished products and that any piece of writing can be improved. Revisions will take place during the next stage in the writing process. For now, students should sit back and let their creativity flow forth.

Drafting--Continuing The Process
"Writing to me is a voyage, an odyssey, a discovery,
because I am never certain of precisely what I will find."
-Gabriel Fielding
